JavaScript is a programming language that lets web designers do things like make things move, do input validation, and some other useful things that improve your experience as a user. Unfortunately, it also lets them do things that ultimately annoy you, like pop up adverts without your wanting them, make things blink, and so on. In recent years, however, JavaScript has become essential for something called AJAX, which is how bits of the page can be updated without you needing to reload the whole page (without wanting to go into too much detail, that is!).
While designing this site, we've endeavoured to use JavaScript in a helpful, useful way to enhance your experience. However, if you're reading this, you probably came from the link in the text that appears on the page if JavaScript is turned off. If you'd like to turn it back on, but don't know how, here are instructions you, for different browsers.
